Here is a list of links to the steps for making wide bias tape.

Make Wide Bias Tape from Scratch

Finishing Your Wide Bias Tape

There are three different ways that I usually finish bais tape. One is very tailored with top stitching on the bias tape. Another has less prominent top stitching and the last has no top stitching at all.

Fold

Step I- Fold

Fold the edge of the fabric to meet the edge of the back ground fabric and fold again so that the bias tape is past the stitching line.

Stitch

Step II-
Choices 1 & 2

No. 1 On the front side, you can choose to stitch on the back ground just beside the edge of the bias tape for a machine stitched option that is less obvious.

No. 2 You can stitch on the bias tape, if for the tailored top stitch look.

Step III- Front View

You can see the way the stitching catches the back of the bias tape and finishes it off.

Hand Stitch Back

Step IV- Hand Finished

Fold the inside edge of the bias tape just to the stitch line. Hand stitch inside edge of bias tape to stitching line.

Hand Stitch Front

Step XI- Front View

This is a more time consuming finish but shows there are no stitching lines visible on the front of the finished piece. This is an elegant solution for very fine projects.
