Hand Stitches for Hand Sewing

Boullion Knot Stitch

This is the stitch used to Make Bullion Stitch Roses.

Bullion Knot Stitch

Come up from the back at point A to start. Stitch down at point B,the length that you want the stitch and bring the needle up back up at point A, leaving the needle in the fabric.

Wrap Needle

Wrap thread around the needle about 8 times. This would vary with the size you need the Bullion Stitch to be.

Bullion Stitch

This is the part that needs practise. Pinch the needle and wrapping between your thumb & index finger of your left hand and gently push the needle through with right hand until the thread is pulled through completely.

Bullion Stitch

Stitch down at your original point B and gently pull until the Bullion Stitch is Snug,
