Beading Techniques

Couching a String of Beads

This is a method that I commonly use if I want to add sequins using a bead to hold them in place on a piece of fabric. They can be in a line as in this example or randomly placed on the fabric.

Using a Bead to place a Sequin

Come up with the needle from the back of the fabric in the location where you want the bead.

Thread the sequin and then the bead, then stitch back down through the sequin until the thread is firmly in place but not tight enough enough to bunch the fabric.
