Beading Techniques

Beaded Edging for Belly Dance Veils

Beaded fringes are great for many costumes and decorations. I've used them for Beaded Christmas Ornaments, 1920's Costumes, Belly Dance Costumes and La Belle Époque Costumes.

Beaded Fringe

I like mixing up bead sizes, colours and shapes, when I make up my beaded fringes, to give them more style and dimension.

Beaded Fringe with Single Bead to Finish

Start by anchoring the end of the thread to the fabric which you are finging. Thread enough beads to make the fringe the length that you want it to be. Skip one bead to finish the end and then thread the needle back through the beads on the thread.

Finished Beaded Fringe with Singele Bead to Finish

Tie off thread on the back of the fabric.

Beaded Fringe with Loop Finish

Start by anchoring the end of the thread to the fabric which you are fringing. Thread enough beads to make the fringe the length that you want it to be. Skip enough beads to make the loop the size you wish. Then thread the needle back through the beads on the thread.

Finished Beaded Fringe with Loop Finish

Tie off thread on the back of the fabric.
