This Crocheted Roses was inspired by the stylizaton of the Art Deco Period in design and has that traditional feel about it.

Crocheted Rose Rings for those of you who love to go over the top. I particularily like the way the leaves are handled, enough to give the colour contrast without overpowering the roses.

Crochet Leaves

This was a pattern developed from a rose and leaf doily, originally crocheted by my grandmother. Click to see the original leaves on the doily.

Figuring out the pattern caused me some difficulty as I wanted to start from the bottom of the leaf. It just would not work until I started at the tip and increased with each row. You can make them wider/narrower by having more/less rows that you increase in the middle stitch. You can make them longer/shorter by crocheting more/less rows. 4ch, to start

Row 1

1dc into second ch from hook, 3dc into next ch, dc into final ch, 1ch

Row 2

2dc,3dc into next dc,2dc,1ch
make sure the centre stitches where you do the 3dc line up from row to row... the 3dc are always in the centre dc of the 3dc in the previous row.

Row 3

3dc, 3dc in next dc, 3dc, 1ch

Row 4

4dc, 3dc in next dc, 4dc, 1ch

Row 5

5dc, 3dc in next dc, 5dc, 1ch

Row 6

5dc, 3dc in next dc, 5dc, 1ch

Row 7
