Crochet Snowflakes... Pattern #12

Snowflakes are very limp, without a stiffener. My favourite is the the old fashioned sugar & water mixture. This makes the crochet snow flake rock hard and gives it a slightly translucent white almost sparkly apperance. It is a little sticky to work with but I've explained the procedure on the page for crochet stiffeners. Once you've got it down it not a big deal. A lot of the finished shape of the crochet snowflake is created by the way you mold with your fingers and pin it in place.

**There is a point in the instructions which has caused some confusion. When it says "2dtr into centre of quad tr" it means to litterly stab through the "quad tr" about half way down. I try to get a spot that is a little firm rather than getting one thread that pulls. The top half of the "quad tr" is part of a "dtr cluster"
