Christmas Tree Ornaments

Fun/Craft Foam & Beads

This is an unconventional ornament. The colours can easily be changed to suit the colour scheme of your tree.

Finished Christmas Ornament

Craft Supplies:

I was in a mood to just be working without much thought, so I did not stop to take as many pictures of this one. It is pretty simple though. There should be no problem. Part of the fun of these ornaments, is just the process of trying different things.

I encourage everyone to use these ideas a starting point and just start playing with shapes, colors and beads.

Draw Patterns on Graph Paper

Step I

I do have pictures of the patterns, I used. You can scale them up and down to suite the size you want.

Attach Beads to Ends of Fun Foam Pieces

Step II

I cut the pieces out of Fun Foam.

Step III

I stitched the light purple 1 inch circles to the orange pieces using brightly colored tapestry yarn and then added the bead in the center.

I made holes from the top with the needle and then stitched up from the bottom through the hole I made. This meant that I could place the stitched very carefully, knowing exactly where they would be.

Step IV

I then stitched the orange pieces to the top of the purple pieces using brightly the colored tapestry yarn in a different color.

Step V

To finish I stitched the front and back together, using yet again another color of yarn.

Step VI

The last step is to add the yarn for hanging the Christmas Tree Ornament and add some finishing beads.

I love color and the more I use the happier that I am.
