Make Felt
Christmas Tree Ornaments

Baroque Scroll Work

This is an ornament that has had a couple of incarnations. This is the first and is finished with a basic blanket stitch.

Embroidery Supplies:

DMC Embroidery Floss:

Felt Fabric

The scroll patterns are worked with the full 6 strands of embroidery thread.

It is your choice, you can have a plain coloured back or you can make it match the front of the ornament, by reversing the pattern. Stitch the front and back together using blanket stitch with all six strands of the white embroidery thread.

Drawing for Scroll Work on Felt Christmas Tree Ornament

Here is a graph pattern image to use to create the shapes that I've used. You can of course draw your own shape and pattern it as you wish.

I somehow became dissatisfied with the origanal finishing. I took it apart and used a running stitch through the original holes to stitch it to a dark green felt back ground using a dark green embroidery thread and then trimmed the green felt a slightly thick 1/8" all the way around
