The Bird is made by building up layers of felt using Blanket Stitch and all six strands of the embroidery thread.
Use the drawing below to make patterns and cut the shapes from the drawing in Turquoise, Purple and Orange felt. Make the beak larger so it can extend between the body pieces.
Start by using beads to attach sequins along the lower edge of the wing. Attach wing to the body using blanket stitch. I ended up placing the wing in a different spot than I originally drew on the pattern.
It is your choice, you can have plain Purple or you can make the back match the front of the ornament, by reversing the patterns. Insert the orange beak between the purple body layers and stitch through it with the blanket stitch that is holding the body together.
Use a Yellow bead for the bird`s eye.
