These are embroidered using classic hand stitching techniques. I have always loved embroidery. As a child my mother bought me a pre-stamped runner for Christmas. She thought that it would keep me busy for several months. It was done by New Year's Day. In Grade 7, we were required to embroider the front of our project apron in sewing class. My teacher accused me of having someone else do the embroidery. She said that no Canadian girl could embroider that well.
The finishing for these ornaments is definitly more work than felt ornaments would be. You could use the same patterns on felt if you wished to do a project that required less time to finish. They are lovely, with the satin ruffles
I did throw one in with a simple pattern of pearls which is not strictly embroidery but seemed to suite the collection.
