I once saw a very nice powder blue t-shirt. The whole front was beaded with this grid pattern of pearl beads. I never forgot it and this is why you are seeing this ornament now. I've also seen this pattern of beading used to decorate the sleeves of the very elaborate Tudor dresses. Something Ann Bolyn would have worn in her day.
It is a very simple grid to work out and the spacing can be adjusted to suit any project and yet it is lovely.
I've included this ornament with the embroidered ornaments rather that the beaded ones just because it seemed to fit so well.
3mm Round Faux Pearls
60" wide Plum Coloured Satin Fabric for Frill
Complementary Shade of Fabric for back of ornament either in navy or plum.
Start by clicking on the button above to get the pdf of the Pearl Heart Ornament. Print it, so that you can trace it onto tissue paper. Pin the tissue paper to the fabric that you want to use on the front of the Ornament. If you have a method of working on a dark background that you prefer, go for it.
Use a Running Stitch around the outside of the heart so that when the tissue paper is removed you can still see the edges of the heart..
Stitch the pearls by bringing the needle up through the back, threading through the pearl and then stitching back down in the same spot that you came up.
