Make Christmas Decorations

Ribbon Poinsettia

This is a lovely little poinsettia about 3" in diameter, perfect for decorating a gift or napkin rings.

Ribbon Poinsettia

Supplies:

Cut 5 lengths of red satin ribbon, 3 1/2" long. Fold each one gently, pinning the ends so that both the satin sides are up. I stacked them on a strong straight pin to hold them while I was arranging them in a circle. Tack the in the middle with a couple of stitches and then turning under some of the visable raw ends to finish holding them,

Cover the centre with French Knots to hide any problem areas. I used all six strands of embroidery thread with 3 turns around the needle to create the knot.

For the Leaves, cut 5 lengths of the green ribbon, 4" long. Repeat the same process for placing the leaves, stitching them in place. Then tack the green leaves behind the red petals, centering them.
