Make Christmas Tree Ornaments

La Belle Èpoque Inspired Ornaments
with beads & sequins

I've been watching a little too much "Downton Abbey". The Beads & Sequins are starting to show up in my work. The show used fashion influences from the French style "La Belle Èpoque" which was a time of Joy and Beauty prior to the start of World War I. One of my favourite artists started working in this period. Ertè did cover art for many of the magazines from that period.

I have to say that Beads & Sequins have always been a favourite of mine. This copper ornament is actually made from left over fabric, Beads & Sequins from my belly dance costume.

I have also used Beads & Sequins in 1920's Charleston Costumes although they usually include a lot of fringe as well.

I am considering doing a series of Costumes inspired by "La Belle Èpoque". I love it so much.

One of my secrets that is until now unmentioned on this website is my passion for dance. As soon as I start talking about Beads & Sequins it is immediately out of the closet.
